حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأُمَوِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمْ يَكْذِبْ إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا فِي ثَلَاثٍ قَوْلِهِ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي سَقِيمٌ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ سَقِيمًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَوْلُهُ:‏‏‏‏ لِسَارَّةَ أُخْتِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَوْلِهِ:‏‏‏‏ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَذَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسْتَغْرَبُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے تین معاملات کے سوا کسی بھی معاملے میں کبھی بھی جھوٹ نہیں بولا، ایک تو یہ ہے کہ آپ نے کہا: میں بیمار ہوں، حالانکہ آپ بیمار نہیں تھے، ( دوسرا ) آپ نے سارہ کو اپنی بہن کہا: ( جب کہ وہ آپ کی بیوی تھیں ) ( تیسرا، آپ نے بت توڑا ) اور پوچھنے والوں سے آپ نے کہا: بڑے ( بت ) ان کے اس بڑے نے توڑے ہیں، ( ان سے پوچھ لیں ) ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث کئی سندوں سے ابوہریرہ کے واسطہ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے آئی ہے، اور ابوالزناد کے واسطہ سے ابن اسحاق کی روایت غریب ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Ibrahim, peace be upon him, did not lie about anything at all - except for three: 'Verily I am sick (37:89)' while he was not sick. And his saying about Sarah: 'She is my sister' and his saying: 'Nay, this one, the biggest of them did it (21:63).'
