حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ابْنُ عَثْمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَلَّمْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَكَتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ كَلَّمْتُهُ فَسَكَتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ كَلَّمْتُهُ فَسَكَتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَحَرَّكْتُ رَاحِلَتِي فَتَنَحَّيْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ ثَكِلَتْكَ أُمُّكَ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏نَزَرْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ كَلُّ ذَلِكَ لَا يُكَلِّمُكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَا أَخْلَقَكَ بِأَنْ يَنْزِلَ فِيكَ قُرْآنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَمَا نَشِبْتُ أَنْ سَمِعْتُ صَارِخًا يَصْرُخُ بِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَجِئْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا ابْنَ الْخَطَّابِ لَقَدْ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيَّ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةَ سُورَةٌ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِي مِنْهَا مَا طَلَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ الشَّمْسُ إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُبِينًا . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَاهُ بَعْضُهُمْ عَنْ مَالِكٍ مُرْسَلًا.

Urdu Translation

عمر بن خطاب رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ کسی سفر میں تھے، میں نے آپ سے کچھ کہا، آپ خاموش رہے، میں نے پھر آپ سے بات کی آپ پھر خاموش رہے، میں نے پھر بات کی آپ ( اس بار بھی ) خاموش رہے، میں نے اپنی سواری کو جھٹکا دیا اور ایک جانب ( کنارے ) ہو گیا، اور ( اپنے آپ سے ) کہا: ابن خطاب! تیری ماں تجھ پر روئے، تو نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے تین بار اصرار کیا، اور آپ نے تجھ سے ایک بار بھی بات نہیں کی، تو اس کا مستحق اور سزاوار ہے کہ تیرے بارے میں کوئی آیت نازل ہو ( اور تجھے سرزنش کی جائے ) عمر بن خطاب کہتے ہیں: ابھی کچھ بھی دیر نہ ہوئی تھی کہ میں نے ایک پکارنے والے کو سنا، وہ مجھے پکار رہا تھا، عمر بن خطاب کہتے ہیں: میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس گیا، آپ نے فرمایا: ”ابن خطاب! آج رات مجھ پر ایک ایسی سورۃ نازل ہوئی ہے جو مجھے ان تمام چیزوں سے زیادہ محبوب ہے جن پر سورج نکلتا ہے اور وہ سورۃ یہ ہے «إنا فتحنا لك فتحا مبينا» ”بیشک اے نبی! ہم نے آپ کو ایک کھلم کھلا فتح دی ہے“ ( الفتح: ۱ ) ۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے، ۲- بعض نے اس حدیث کو مالک سے مرسلاً ( بلاعاً ) روایت کیا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Malik bin Anas: from Zaid bin Aslam, from his father who said: I heard 'Umar bin Al-Khattab [may Allah be pleased with him] saying: 'We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) during one of his journeys when I said something to him but he was silent. Then I said something again but he was silent. I quickened my pace of mount to go to the other wise. I said: May your mother lose you O Ibn Al-Khattab! You pestered the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) three times, each time he did not reply to you! You deserve that something be revealed about you in the Qur'an.' He ('Umar) said: It was not long before I heard a voice calling me.' So I came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said: O Ibn Al-Khattab! A Surah was revealed to me last night which is dearer to me than what the sun rises upon: Verily, We have given you a manifest victory (48:1).'
