حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ كَأَنِّي أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ،‏‏‏‏ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ فَمَا أَوَّلْتَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْعِلْمَ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میں نے خواب میں دیکھا گویا مجھے دودھ کا کوئی پیالہ دیا گیا جس میں سے میں نے کچھ پیا پھر میں نے اپنا بچا ہوا حصہ عمر بن خطاب کو دے دیا“، تو لوگ کہنے لگے اللہ کے رسول! آپ نے اس کی کیا تعبیر کی؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”اس کی تعبیر علم ہے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'I saw that I was brought a cup of milk, so I drank from it, and I gave my leftover to 'Umar bin Al-Khattab.' They said: 'So what did you interpret it as O Messenger of Allah?' He said: '(It is) Knowledge.'
