حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَسَمَّانِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَبَكَى. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ.

Urdu Translation

انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہ سے فرمایا: ”اللہ نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمہیں «لم يكن الذين كفروا» ۱؎ پڑھ کر سناؤں، انہوں نے عرض کیا: کیا اس نے میرا نام لیا ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں ( یہ سن کر ) وہ رو پڑے“ ۲؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے فرمایا: ”پھر انہوں نے اسی طرح کی حدیث ذکر کی“۔

English Translation

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Ubayy bin Ka'b: Indeed Allah ordered me to recite to you: Those who disbelieve were not going to... (98:1) He said: And He named me? He said: Yes. So he wept.
