حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا لَا أُحْصِي يَتَسَوَّكُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَائِشَةَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ. وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ لَا يَرَوْنَ بِالسِّوَاكِ لِلصَّائِمِ بَأْسًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِلَّا أَنَّ بَعْضَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ كَرِهُوا السِّوَاكَ لِلصَّائِمِ بِالْعُودِ وَالرُّطَبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَرِهُوا لَهُ السِّوَاكَ آخِرَ النَّهَارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَرَ الشَّافِعِيُّ بِالسِّوَاكِ بَأْسًا أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ وَلَا آخِرَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَرِهَ أَحْمَدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِسْحَاق السِّوَاكَ آخِرَ النَّهَارِ.

Urdu Translation

عامر بن ربیعہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو روزہ کی حالت میں اتنی بار مسواک کرتے دیکھا کہ میں اسے شمار نہیں کر سکتا۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عامر بن ربیعہ رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- اس باب میں عائشہ رضی الله عنہا سے بھی روایت ہے۔ ۳- اسی حدیث پر اہل علم کا عمل ہے۔ یہ لوگ روزہ دار کے مسواک کرنے میں کوئی حرج نہیں ۱؎ سمجھتے، البتہ بعض اہل علم نے روزہ دار کے لیے تازی لکڑی کی مسواک کو مکروہ قرار دیا ہے، اور دن کے آخری حصہ میں بھی مسواک کو مکروہ کہا ہے۔ لیکن شافعی دن کے شروع یا آخری کسی بھی حصہ میں مسواک کرنے میں حرج محسوس نہیں کرتے۔ احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ نے دن کے آخری حصہ میں مسواک کو مکروہ قرار دیا ہے۔

English Translation

Abdullah bin Amir bin Rabi'ah narrated from his father who said: I saw the Prophet - (a number of times) such that I was not able to count - using the Siwak while he was fasting.
