حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا حَضَرْتُمُ الْمَرِيضَ أَوِ الْمَيِّتَ فَقُولُوا خَيْرًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ يُؤَمِّنُونَ عَلَى مَا تَقُولُونَ . قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ فَلَمَّا مَاتَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ مَاتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقُولِيَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَعْقِبْنِي مِنْهُ عُقْبَى حَسَنَةً ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ فَأَعْقَبَنِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ شَقِيقٌ هُوَ:‏‏‏‏ ابْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَبُو وَائِلٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ كَانَ يُسْتَحَبُّ أَنْ يُلَقَّنَ الْمَرِيضُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَوْلَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وقَالَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ مَرَّةً فَمَا لَمْ يَتَكَلَّمْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُلَقَّنَ وَلَا يُكْثَرَ عَلَيْهِ فِي هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرُوِيَ عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ أَنَّهُ لَمَّا حَضَرَتْهُ الْوَفَاةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏جَعَلَ رَجُلٌ يُلَقِّنُهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَكْثَرَ عَلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا قُلْتُ مَرَّةً فَأَنَا عَلَى ذَلِكَ مَا لَمْ أَتَكَلَّمْ بِكَلَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّمَا مَعْنَى قَوْلِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا أَرَادَ مَا رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ كَانَ آخِرُ قَوْلِهِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ.

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہم سے فرمایا: ”جب تم مریض کے پاس یا کسی مرے ہوئے آدمی کے پاس آؤ تو اچھی بات کہو ۱؎، اس لیے کہ جو تم کہتے ہو اس پر ملائکہ آمین کہتے ہیں“، جب ابوسلمہ کا انتقال ہوا، تو میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! ابوسلمہ کا انتقال ہو گیا ہے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: تو تم یہ دعا پڑھو: «اللهم اغفر لي وله وأعقبني منه عقبى حسنة» ”اے اللہ! مجھے اور انہیں معاف فرما دے، اور مجھے ان کا نعم البدل عطا فرما“ وہ کہتی ہیں کہ: جب میں نے یہ دعا پڑھی تو اللہ نے مجھے ایسی ہستی عطا کر دی جو ان سے بہتر تھی یعنی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو عطا کیا۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ام سلمہ رضی الله عنہا کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہ مستحب سمجھا جاتا تھا کہ مریض کو اس کی موت کے وقت «لا إله إلا الله» کی تلقین کی جائے، ۳- بعض اہل علم کہتے ہیں: جب وہ ( میت ) اسے ایک بار کہہ دے اور اس کے بعد پھر نہ بولے تو مناسب نہیں کہ اس کے سامنے باربار یہ کلمہ دہرایا جائے، ۴- ابن مبارک کے بارے میں مروی ہے کہ جب ان کی موت کا وقت آیا، تو ایک شخص انہیں «لا إله إلا الله» کی تلقین کرنے لگا اور باربار کرنے لگا، عبداللہ بن مبارک نے اس سے کہا: جب تم نے ایک بار کہہ دیا تو میں اب اسی پر قائم ہوں جب تک کوئی اور گفتگو نہ کروں، عبداللہ کے اس قول کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ ان کی مراد اس سے وہی تھی جو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مروی ہے کہ ”جس کا آخری قول «لا إله إلا الله» ہو تو وہ جنت میں داخل ہو گا“۔

English Translation

Umm Salamah narrated: The Messenger of Allah said to us: 'When you attend to the sick or dying then say only good, for indeed the angels say Amin to what you say.' She said: When Abu Salamah died I went to the Prophet and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Abu Salamah has died.' He said: 'Then say: O Allah forgive me and him, and give me a good replacement for him. She said: I said tat, and Allah gave a replace that was better than him: The Messenger of Allah.
