Baab Namaz May Qasr Kerne Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : اسْتَقْبَلْنَا أَنَسًا بْنَ مَالِكٍ حِينَ قَدِمَ مِنْ الشَّأْمِ ، فَلَقِينَاهُ بِعَيْنِ التَّمْرِ فَرَأَيْتُهُ يُصَلِّي عَلَى حِمَارٍ وَوَجْهُهُ مِنْ ذَا الْجَانِبِ يَعْنِي عَنْ يَسَارِ الْقِبْلَةِ ، فَقُلْتُ : رَأَيْتُكَ تُصَلِّي لِغَيْرِ الْقِبْلَةِ ، فَقَالَ : لَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَهُ لَمْ أَفْعَلْهُ ، رَوَاهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ابْنُ طَهْمَانَ ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے احمد بن سعید نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے حبان بن ہلال نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے ہمام بن یحییٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے انس بن سیرین نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ   انس رضی اللہ عنہ شام سے جب ( حجاج کی خلیفہ سے شکایت کر کے ) واپس ہوئے تو ہم ان سے عین التمر میں ملے۔ میں نے دیکھا کہ آپ گدھے پر سوار ہو کر نماز پڑھ رہے تھے اور آپ کا منہ قبلہ سے بائیں طرف تھا۔ اس پر میں نے کہا کہ میں نے آپ کو قبلہ کے سوا دوسری طرف منہ کر کے نماز پڑھتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔ انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ اگر میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ایسا کرتے نہ دیکھتا تو میں بھی نہ کرتا۔ اس روایت کو ابراہیم ابن طہمان نے بھی حجاج سے، انہوں نے انس بن سیرین سے، انہوں نے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے اور انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیان کیا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Anas bin Seereen: We went to receive Anas bin Malik when he returned from Sham and met him at a place called 'Ainat- Tamr. I saw him praying riding the donkey, with his face to this direction, i.e. to the left of the Qibla. I said to him, I have seen you offering the prayer in a direction other than that of the Qibla. He replied, If I had not seen Allah's Apostle doing it, I would not have done it.
