Narrated `Abdullah: the Prophet said, He who slaps his cheeks, tears his clothes and follows the ways and traditions of the Days of Ignorance is not one of us.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُبَيْدٌ الْيَامِيُّ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَطَمَ الْخُدُودَ وَشَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ وَدَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ .

ہم سے ابونعیم نے بیان کیا ‘ کہ ہم سے سفیان ثوری نے ‘ ان سے زبید یامی نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے ابراہیم نخعی نے ‘ ان سے مسروق نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جو عورتیں ( کسی کی موت پر ) اپنے چہروں کو پیٹتی اور گریبان چاک کر لیتی ہیں اور جاہلیت کی باتیں بکتی ہیں وہ ہم میں سے نہیں ہیں۔
