Sahih Bukhari 2517 - The Book Of Manumission (Of Slaves)

Baab Ghulamon Ki Azadi Ke Bayan Main

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي وَاقِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَرْجَانَةَ صَاحِبُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أَعْتَقَ امْرَأً مُسْلِمًا اسْتَنْقَذَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْهُ عُضْوًا مِنْهُ مِنَ النَّارِ . قَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَرْجَانَةَ : فَانْطَلَقْتُ بِهِ إِلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، فَعَمَدَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا إِلَى عَبْدٍ لَهُ قَدْ أَعْطَاهُ بِهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَشَرَةَ آلَافِ دِرْهَمٍ أَوْ أَلْفَ دِينَارٍ ، فَأَعْتَقَهُ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے احمد بن یونس نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے عاصم بن محمد نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے واقد بن محمد نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے علی بن حسین کے ساتھی سعید بن مرجانہ نے بیان کیا اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا جس شخص نے بھی کسی مسلمان ( غلام ) کو آزاد کیا تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس غلام کے جسم کے ہر عضو کی آزادی کے بدلے اس شخص کے جسم کے بھی ایک ایک عضو کو دوزخ سے آزاد کرے گا۔ سعید بن مرجانہ نے بیان کیا کہ پھر میں علی بن حسین ( زین العابدین رحمہ اللہ ) کے یہاں گیا ( اور ان سے حدیث بیان کی ) وہ اپنے ایک غلام کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے۔ جس کی عبداللہ بن جعفر دس ہزار درہم یا ایک ہزار دینار قیمت دے رہے تھے اور آپ نے اسے آزاد کر دیا۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, Whoever frees a Muslim slave, Allah will save all the parts of his body from the (Hell) Fire as he has freed the body-parts of the slave. Sa`id bin Marjana said that he narrated that Hadith to `Ali bin Al-Husain and he freed his slave for whom `Abdullah bin Ja`far had offered him ten thousand Dirhams or one-thousand Dinars.
