حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ الرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتِ مُعَوِّذٍ ، قَالَتْ : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَدَاةَ بُنِيَ عَلَيَّ , فَجَلَسَ عَلَى فِرَاشِي كَمَجْلِسِكَ مِنِّي , وَجُوَيْرِيَاتٌ يَضْرِبْنَ بِالدُّفِّ يَنْدُبْنَ مَنْ قُتِلَ مِنْ آبَائِهِنَّ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ حَتَّى قَالَتْ جَارِيَةٌ : وَفِينَا نَبِيٌّ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي غَدٍ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَا تَقُولِي هَكَذَا وَقُولِي مَا كُنْتِ تَقُولِينَ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ مدینی نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے بشر بن مفضل نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے خالد بن ذکوان نے، ان سے ربیع بنت معوذ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ   جس رات میری شادی ہوئی تھی نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس کی صبح کو میرے یہاں تشریف لائے اور میرے بستر پر بیٹھے، جیسے اب تم یہاں میرے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے ہو۔ چند بچیاں دف بجا رہی تھیں اور وہ اشعار پڑھ رہی تھیں جن میں ان کے ان خاندان والوں کا ذکر تھا جو بدر کی لڑائی میں شہید ہو گئے تھے۔ انہیں میں ایک لڑکی نے یہ مصرع بھی پڑھا کہ ہم میں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہیں جو کل ہونے والی بات کو جانتے ہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ یہ نہ پڑھو، بلکہ جو پہلے پڑھ رہی تھیں وہی پڑھو۔

English Translation

Narrated Ar-Rubai bint Muauwidh: The Prophet came to me after consuming his marriage with me and sat down on my bed as you (the sub-narrator) are sitting now, and small girls were beating the tambourine and singing in lamentation of my father who had been killed on the day of the battle of Badr. Then one of the girls said, There is a Prophet amongst us who knows what will happen tomorrow. The Prophet said (to her), Do not say this, but go on saying what you have spoken before.
