حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُجَاشِعٌ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَخِي بَعْدَ الْفَتْحِ ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، جِئْتُكَ بِأَخِي لِتُبَايِعَهُ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ ، قَالَ : ذَهَبَ أَهْلُ الْهِجْرَةِ بِمَا فِيهَا ، فَقُلْتُ : عَلَى أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تُبَايِعُهُ ، قَالَ : أُبَايِعُهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ ، وَالْإِيمَانِ ، وَالْجِهَادِ ، فَلَقِيتُ مَعْبَدًا بَعْدُ ، وَكَانَ أَكْبَرَهُمَا فَسَأَلْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : صَدَقَ مُجَاشِعٌ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عمرو بن خالد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے زہیر بن معاویہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے عاصم بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوعثمان نہدی نے بیان کیا اور ان سے مجاشع بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ   فتح مکہ کے بعد میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں اپنے بھائی ( مجالد ) کو لے کر حاضر ہوا اور عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! میں اسے اس لیے لے کر حاضر ہوا ہوں تاکہ آپ ہجرت پر اس سے بیعت لے لیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ہجرت کرنے والے اس کی فضیلت و ثواب کو حاصل کر چکے ( یعنی اب ہجرت کرنے کا زمانہ تو گزر چکا ) ۔ میں نے عرض کیا: پھر آپ اس سے کس چیز پر بیعت لیں گے؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ایمان، اسلام اور جہاد پر۔ ابی عثمان نہدی نے کہا کہ پھر میں ( مجاشع کے بھائی ) ابومعبد مجالد سے ملا وہ دونوں بھائیوں سے بڑے تھے، میں نے ان سے بھی اس حدیث کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے کہا کہ مجاشع نے حدیث ٹھیک طرح بیان کی ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Majashi: I took my brother to the Prophet after the Conquest (of Mecca) and said, O Allah's Apostle! I have come to you with my brother so that you may take a pledge of allegiance from him for migration. The Prophet said, The people of migration (i.e. those who migrated to Medina before the Conquest) enjoyed the privileges of migration (i.e. there is no need for migration anymore). I said to the Prophet, For what will you take his pledge of allegiance? The Prophet said, I will take his pledge of allegiance for Islam, Belief, and for Jihad (i.e. fighting in Allah's Cause).
