حَدَّثَنَا صَدَقَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى : بَعْضُ الْحَدِيثِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : اقْرَأْ عَلَيَّ ، قُلْتُ : أَأَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَيْكَ أُنْزِلَ ، قَالَ : فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَسْمَعَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِي ، فَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةَ النِّسَاءِ حَتَّى بَلَغْتُ فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَى هَؤُلاءِ شَهِيدًا سورة النساء آية 41 ، قَالَ : أَمْسِكْ ، فَإِذَا عَيْنَاهُ تَذْرِفَانِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے صدقہ بن فضل نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے خبر دی، انہیں سفیان ثوری نے، انہیں سلیمان نے، انہیں ابراہیم نے، انہیں عبیدہ نے اور انہیں عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے، یحییٰ نے بیان کیا کہ   حدیث کا کچھ حصہ عمرو بن مرہ سے ہے ( بواسطہ ابراہیم ) کہ عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ مجھ سے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ مجھے قرآن پڑھ کر سناؤ۔ میں نے عرض کیا، نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو میں پڑھ کے سناؤں؟ وہ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر ہی نازل ہوتا ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ میں دوسرے سے سننا چاہتا ہوں۔ چنانچہ میں نے آپ کو سورۃ نساء سنانی شروع کی، جب میں «فكيف إذا جئنا من كل أمة بشهيد وجئنا بك على هؤلاء شهيدا‏» پر پہنچا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ٹھہر جاؤ۔ میں نے دیکھا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی آنکھوں سے آنسو بہہ رہے تھے۔

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah bin Masud: Allah's Messenger said to me, Recite (of the Qur'an) for me, I said, Shall I recite it to you although it had been revealed to you? He said, I like to hear (the Qur'an) from others. So I recited Surat-an- Nisa' till I reached: How (will it be) then when We bring from each nation a witness, and We bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness against these people? (4.41) Then he said, Stop! And behold, his eyes were overflowing with tears.
