حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِ الْحِجْرِ : لَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا بَاكِينَ ، فَلَا تَدْخُلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ ، أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمْ مِثْلُ مَا أَصَابَهُمْ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے ابراہیم بن المنذر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے معن نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبداللہ بن دینار نے بیان کیا، اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اصحاب حجر کے متعلق فرمایا تھا کہ اس قوم کی بستی سے جب گزرنا ہی پڑ گیا ہے تو روتے ہوئے گزرو اور اگر روتے ہوئے نہیں گزر سکتے تو پھر اس میں نہ جاؤ۔ کہیں تم پر بھی وہی عذاب نہ آئے جو ان پر آیا تھا۔

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: (While we were going for the Battle of Tabuk and when we reached the places of the dwellers of Al- Hijr), Allah's Messenger said about the dwellers of Al-Hijr (to us). Do not enter (the dwelling places) of these people unless you enter weeping, but if you weep not, then do not enter upon them, lest you be afflicted with what they were afflicted with.
