حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ أَبِي بَزَّةَ : أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ ، هَلْ لِمَنْ قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا مِنْ تَوْبَةٍ ؟ فَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَلا يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلا بِالْحَقِّ سورة الفرقان آية 68 ، فَقَالَ سَعِيدٌ : قَرَأْتُهَا عَلَىابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ كَمَا قَرَأْتَهَا عَلَيَّ ، فَقَالَ : هَذِهِ مَكِّيَّةٌ نَسَخَتْهَا آيَةٌ مَدَنِيَّةٌ الَّتِي فِي سُورَةِ النِّسَاءِ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے ابراہیم بن موسیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو ہشام بن یوسف نے خبر دی، انہیں ابن جریج نے خبر دی، کہا کہ مجھے قاسم بن ابی بزہ نے خبر دی، انہوں نے سعید بن جبیر سے پوچھا کہ   اگر کوئی شخص کسی مسلمان کو جان بوجھ کر قتل کر دے تو کیا اس کی اس گناہ سے توبہ قبول ہو سکتی ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ نہیں۔ ( ابن ابی بزہ نے بیان کیا کہ ) میں نے اس پر یہ آیت پڑھی «ولا يقتلون النفس التي حرم الله إلا بالحق‏» کہ ”اور جس جان کو اللہ نے حرام قرار دیا ہے اسے قتل نہ کرتے، مگر ہاں حق کے ساتھ۔“ سعید بن جبیر نے کہا کہ میں نے بھی یہ آیت ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کے سامنے پڑھی تھی تو انہوں نے کہا تھا کہ مکی آیت اور مدنی آیت جو اس سلسلہ میں سورۃ نساء میں ہے اس سے اس کا حکم منسوخ ہو گیا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Al-Qasim bin Abi Bazza: That he asked Sa`id bin Jubair, Is there any repentance of the one who has murdered a believer intentionally? Then I recited to him:-- Nor kill such life as Allah has forbidden except for a just cause. Sa`id said, I recited this very Verse before Ibn `Abbas as you have recited it before me. Ibn `Abbas said, 'This Verse was revealed in Mecca and it has been abrogated by a Verse in Surat-An-Nisa which was later revealed in Medina.
