Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet narrating about his Lord I'm and said, Allah ordered (the appointed angels over you) that the good and the bad deeds be written, and He then showed (the way) how (to write). If somebody intends to do a good deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write for him a full good deed (in his account with Him); and if he intends to do a good deed and actually did it, then Allah will write for him (in his account) with Him (its reward equal) from ten to seven hundred times to many more times: and if somebody intended to do a bad deed and he does not do it, then Allah will write a full good deed (in his account) with Him, and if he intended to do it (a bad deed) and actually did it, then Allah will write one bad deed (in his account) .

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْدُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيمَا يَرْوِي عَنْ رَبِّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ ، ثُمَّ بَيَّنَ ذَلِكَ فَمَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا ، كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً ، فَإِنْ هُوَ هَمَّ بِهَا فَعَمِلَهَا كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ إِلَى سَبْعِ مِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ إِلَى أَضْعَافٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ، وَمَنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا ، كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً فَإِنْ هُوَ هَمَّ بِهَا فَعَمِلَهَا كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ لَهُ سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً .

ہم سے ابومعمر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے عبدالوارث نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے جعد ابوعثمان نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابورجاء عطاردی نے بیان کیا اور ان سے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک حدیث قدسی میں فرمایا ”اللہ تعالیٰ نے نیکیاں اور برائیاں مقدر کر دی ہیں اور پھر انہیں صاف صاف بیان کر دیا ہے۔ پس جس نے کسی نیکی کا ارادہ کیا لیکن اس پر عمل نہ کر سکا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کے لیے ایک مکمل نیکی کا بدلہ لکھا ہے اور اگر اس نے ارادہ کے بعد اس پر عمل بھی کر لیا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کے لیے اپنے یہاں دس گنا سے سات سو گنا تک نیکیاں لکھی ہیں اور اس سے بڑھ کر اور جس نے کسی برائی کا ارادہ کیا اور پھر اس پر عمل نہیں کیا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کے لیے اپنے یہاں نیکی لکھی ہے اور اگر اس نے ارادہ کے بعد اس پر عمل بھی کر لیا تو اپنے یہاں اس کے لیے ایک برائی لکھی ہے۔
