Narrated Abu Huraira: A person had sexual relation with his wife in the month of Ramadan (while he was fasting), and he came to Allah's Apostle seeking his verdict concerning that action. The Prophet said (to him), Can you afford to manumit a slave? The man said, No. The Prophet said, Can you fast for two successive months? He said, No. The Prophet said, Then feed sixty poor persons.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا وَقَعَ بِامْرَأَتِهِ فِي رَمَضَانَ ، فَاسْتَفْتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : هَلْ تَجِدُ رَقَبَةً ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ صِيَامَ شَهْرَيْنِ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : فَأَطْعِمْ سِتِّينَ مِسْكِينًا ؟ .

ہم سے قتیبہ بن سعید نے بیان کیا، ان سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن شہاب نے، ان سے حمید بن عبدالرحمٰن نے اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   ایک صاحب نے رمضان میں اپنی بیوی سے ہمبستری کر لی اور پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کا حکم پوچھا تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کیا تمہارے پاس کوئی غلام ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ نہیں۔ اس پر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دریافت فرمایا دو مہینے روزے رکھنے کی تم میں طاقت نہیں؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ نہیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس پر کہا کہ پھر ساٹھ محتاجوں کو کھانا کھلاؤ۔
