Baab Khuwab Ki Tabeer Ka Bayan Mein

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ رُؤْيَا يُحِبُّهَا فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ مِنَ اللَّهِ ، فَلْيَحْمَدِ اللَّهَ عَلَيْهَا وَلْيُحَدِّثْ بِهَا ، وَإِذَا رَأَى غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ مِمَّا يَكْرَهُ ، فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ، فَلْيَسْتَعِذْ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَلَا يَذْكُرْهَا لِأَحَدٍ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَضُرُّهُ .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے لیث بن سعد نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابن الہاد نے، ان سے عبداللہ بن خباب نے اور ان سے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ   انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا کہ جب تم میں سے کوئی ایسا خواب دیکھے جسے وہ پسند کرتا ہو تو وہ اللہ کی طرف سے ہوتا ہے۔ اس پر اللہ کی حمد کرے اور اسے بتا دینا چاہئیے لیکن اگر کوئی اس کے سوا کوئی ایسا خواب دیکھتا ہے جو اسے ناپسند ہے تو یہ شیطان کی طرف سے ہوتا ہے پس اس کے شر سے پناہ مانگے اور کسی سے ایسے خواب کا ذکر نہ کرے یہ خواب اسے کچھ نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکے گا۔“

English Translation

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, If anyone of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah, and he should thank Allah for it and narrate it to others; but if he sees something else, i.e., a dream that he dislikes, then it is from Satan, and he should seek refuge with Allah from its evil, and he should not mention it to anybody, for it will not harm him.
