حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي مَرَضِهِ: «مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ». قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ قُلْتُ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ إِذَا قَامَ فِي مَقَامِكَ لَمْ يُسْمِعِ النَّاسَ مِنَ الْبُكَاءِ، فَمُرْ عُمَرَ فَلْيُصَلِّ. فَقَالَ: «مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ». فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَقُلْتُ لِحَفْصَةَ قُولِي إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ إِذَا قَامَ فِي مَقَامِكَ لَمْ يُسْمِعِ النَّاسَ مِنَ الْبُكَاءِ، فَمُرْ عُمَرَ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ، فَفَعَلَتْ حَفْصَةُ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّكُنَّ لأَنْتُنَّ صَوَاحِبُ يُوسُفَ، مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ لِلنَّاسِ». قَالَتْ حَفْصَةُ لِعَائِشَةَ مَا كُنْتُ لأُصِيبَ مِنْكِ خَيْرًا.

Urdu Translation

ہم سے اسماعیل بن ابی اویس نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا مجھ سے امام مالک نے بیان کیا، ان سے ہشام بن عروہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ان کے والد نے بیان کیا اور ان سے ام المؤمنین عائشہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنی بیماری میں فرمایا ابوبکر سے کہو کہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں عائشہ نے کہا کہ میں نے جواباً عرض کیا کہ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ اگر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی جگہ کھڑے ہوں گے تو رونے کی شدت کی وجہ سے اپنی آواز لوگوں کو نہیں سنا سکیں گے اس لیے آپ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو حکم دیجئیے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ ابوبکر سے کہو کہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے کہا کہ تم کہو کہ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ آپ کی جگہ کھڑے ہوں گے تو شدت بکاء کی وجہ سے لوگوں کو سنا نہیں سکیں گے، اس لیے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو نماز پڑھانے کا حکم دیں۔ حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے ایسا ہی کیا۔ اس پر نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ بلاشبہ تم یوسف پیغمبر کی ساتھ والیاں ہو؟ ابوبکر سے کہو کہ لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائیں۔ بعد میں حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے کہا کہ میں نے تم سے کبھی کچھ بھلائی نہیں دیکھی۔

English Translation

Narrated `Aisha: (the mother of believers) Allah's Apostle during his fatal ailment said, Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. I said, If Abu Bakr stood at your place (in prayers, the people will not be able to hear him because of his weeping, so order `Umar to lead the people in prayer. He again said, Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer Then I said to Hafsa, Will you say (to the Prophet), 'If Abu Bakr stood at your place, the people will not be able to hear him be cause of his weeping, so order `Umar to lead the people in prayer? Hafsa did so, whereupon Allah's Apostle said, You are like the companions of Joseph (See Qur'an, 12:30-32). Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. Hafsa then said to me, I have never received any good from you!
