حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ تَلِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ وَغَيْرُهُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، قَالَ : حَجَّ عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَنْزِعُ الْعِلْمَ بَعْدَ أَنْ أَعْطَاكُمُوهُ انْتِزَاعًا وَلَكِنْ يَنْتَزِعُهُ مِنْهُمْ مَعَ قَبْضِ الْعُلَمَاءِ بِعِلْمِهِمْ ، فَيَبْقَى نَاسٌ جُهَّالٌ يُسْتَفْتَوْنَ ، فَيُفْتُونَ بِرَأْيِهِمْ ، فَيُضِلُّونَ وَيَضِلُّونَ ، فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو حَجَّ بَعْدُ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا ابْنَ أُخْتِي انْطَلِقْ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَاسْتَثْبِتْ لِي مِنْهُ الَّذِي حَدَّثْتَنِي عَنْهُ ، فَجِئْتُهُ ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ ، فَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ كَنَحْوِ مَا حَدَّثَنِي ، فَأَتَيْتُ عَائِشَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا ، فَعَجِبَتْ ، فَقَالَتْ : وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ حَفِظَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے سعید بن تلید نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھ سے عبداللہ بن وہب نے، کہا مجھ سے عبدالرحمٰن بن شریح اور ان کے علاوہ ابن لیعہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوالاسود نے اور ان سے عروہ نے بیان کیا کہ   عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی اللہ عنہ نے ہمیں لے کر حج کیا تو میں نے انہیں یہ کہتے سنا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ علم کو، اس کے بعد کہ تمہیں دیا ہے ایک دم سے نہیں اٹھا لے گا بلکہ اسے اس طرح ختم کرے گا کہ علماء کو ان کے علم کے ساتھ اٹھا لے گا پھر کچھ جاہل لوگ باقی رہ جائیں گے، ان سے فتویٰ پوچھا جائے گا اور وہ فتویٰ اپنی رائے کے مطابق دیں گے۔ پس وہ لوگوں کو گمراہ کریں گے اور وہ خود بھی گمراہ ہوں گے۔ پھر میں نے یہ حدیث نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زوجہ مطہرہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے بیان کی۔ ان کے بعد عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے دوبارہ حج کیا تو ام المؤمنین نے مجھ سے کہا کہ بھانجے عبداللہ کے پاس جاؤ اور میرے لیے اس حدیث کو سن کر خوب مضبوط کر لو جو حدیث تم نے مجھ سے ان کے واسطہ سے بیان کی تھی۔ چنانچہ میں ان کے پاس آیا اور میں نے ان سے پوچھا تو انہوں نے مجھ سے وہ حدیث بیان کی، اسی طرح جیسا کہ وہ پہلے مجھ سے بیان کر چکے تھے، پھر میں عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس آیا اور انہیں اس کی خبر دی تو انہیں تعجب ہوا اور بولیں کہ واللہ عبداللہ بن عمرو نے خوب یاد رکھا۔

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr: I heard the Prophet saying, Allah will not deprive you of knowledge after he has given it to you, but it will be taken away through the death of the religious learned men with their knowledge. Then there will remain ignorant people who, when consulted, will give verdicts according to their opinions whereby they will mislead others and go astray.
