Baab Masjid Aur Namaz Ki Jagahain

دَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ شُبَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، قَالَ:: كُنَّا نَتَكَلَّمُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ يُكَلِّمُ الرَّجُلُ صَاحِبَهُ وَهُوَ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ {وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ} [البقرة: 238] فَأُمِرْنَا بِالسُّكُوتِ، وَنُهِينَا عَنِ الْكَلَامِ

Urdu Translation

  ہشیم نے اسماعیل بن ابی خالد سے ، انھوں نے حارث بن شبیل سے ، انھوں نے ابوعمر و شیبانی سے اور انھوں نے حضرت زید بن ارقم ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : ہم نماز میں بات چیت کر لیا کرتے تھے ، ایک آدمی نماز میں اپنے ساتھی سے گفتگو کرلیتا تھا یہاں تک کہ یہ آیت اتری ، ( وقوم للہ قنتین ) ’’ اللہ کے حضور انتہائی خشوع و خضوع کے عالم میں کھٹرے ہو’’ تو ہمیں خاموش رہنے کاحاکم دیا گیا ہمیں گفتگوکرنے سے روک دیا گیا ۔

English Translation

Zaid b. Arqam reported: We used to talk while engaged in prayer and a person talked with a companion on his side in prayer till (this verse) was revealed: And stand before Allah in devout obedience (ii, 238) and we were commanded to observe silence (in prayer) and were forbidden to speak.
