Warrad, the freed slave of Mughira b. Shu'ba, reported: Mughira b. Shu'ba wrote to Mu'awiya (it was Warrad who wrote this letter for him, i. e. Mughira): I heard the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) saying: When the salutation is pronounced. and the rest of the hadith is the same except this that he made no mention of: He is Potent over everything.

وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدَةُ بْنُ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ، أَنَّ وَرَّادًا، مَوْلَى الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: كَتَبَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ، إِلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ - كَتَبَ ذَلِكَ الْكِتَابَ لَهُ وَرَّادٌ - إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: حِينَ سَلَّمَ، بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِهِمَا، إِلَّا قَوْلَهُ «وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ» فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ.

  ابن عون نے ابو سعید سے ، انھوں نے ورّاد سے ۔ جو مغیرہ بن شعبہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ کےکاتب تھے ۔ روایت کی ، کہا : معاویہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ نےمغیرہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ کی طرف لکھا ( مسئلہ دریافت کیا ) ۔ ۔ ۔ ۔ ۔ ۔ ( آگے ) منصور اور اعمش کی حدیث کے مطابق ( ہے ۔ )
