Baab Masjid Aur Namaz Ki Jagahain

وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْكَلْبِيُّ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ سَيَّارِ بْنِ سَلَامَةَ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ، يَقُولُ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُؤَخِّرُ الْعِشَاءَ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ، وَيَكْرَهُ النَّوْمَ قَبْلَهَا، وَالْحَدِيثَ بَعْدَهَا، وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ مِنَ الْمِائَةِ إِلَى السِّتِّينَ، وَكَانَ يَنْصَرِفُ حِينَ يَعْرِفُ بَعْضُنَا وَجْهَ بَعْضٍ»

Urdu Translation

  ( شعبہ کے بجائے ) حماد بن سلمہ نے ابو منہال ( سیار بن سلامہ ) سے روایت کی ، کہا : میں نے ابو برزہ اسلمی ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سےسنا ، کہتے تھےکہ رسول اللہ ﷺ عشاء کو تہائی رات تک مؤخر کر دیتے تھے اور اس سے پہلے سونے اور بعد میں گفتگو کرنے کو ناپسند فرماتے تھے اور صبح کی نماز میں سو سے لے کر ساٹھ تک آیتیں تلاوت فرماتے اور ایسے وقت میں سلام پھیرتے تھے جب ہم ایک دوسرے کے چہرے کو پہچان سکتے تھے

English Translation

Abu Barza b. Aslami is reported to have said: The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) delayed the night prayer till a third of the night had passed and he did not approve of sleeping before it, and talking after it, and he used to recite in the morning prayer from one hundred to sixty verses (and completed the prayer at such hours) when we recognised the faces of one another.
