A'isha observed that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) used to observe prayer in the night and the last of his (night) prayer was Witr.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي مِنْ اللَّيْلِ حَتَّى يَكُونَ آخِرَ صَلَاتِهِ الْوِتْرُ

  عمار بن زریق نے ابو اسحاق سے ، انھوں نے اسود سے اور انھوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی ، کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ر ات کو نماز پڑھتے حتیٰ کہ ان کی نماز کا آخری حصہ وتر ہوتا ۔ ( اکثر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا معمول یہی تھا ) -
