حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَقَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ الْأَسْوَدَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ يُعَلِّمُ الْقُرْآنَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ تَقْرَأُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ أَدَالًا أَمْ ذَالًا قَالَ بَلْ دَالًا سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مُدَّكِرٍ دَالًا

Urdu Translation

  زہیر نے کہا : ہم سے ابو اسحاق نے حدیث بیان کی ، انھوں نے کہا : میں نے ایک آدمی کو دیکھا اس نے اسود بن یزید ( سبیعی کوفی ) سے جبکہ وہ مسجد میں قرآن کی تعلیم دے رہے تھے ۔ سوال کیا : تم اس ( آیت ) کو کیسے پڑھتے ہو ؟دال پڑھتے یا ذال ؟ انھوں نے جواب دیا : دال پڑھتا ہوں ۔ میں نے عبد اللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سنا وہ بتا رہے تھے ۔ کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ‌ دال کے ساتھ پڑھتے سنا ۔

English Translation

Abu Ishaq reported: I saw a man asking Aswad b. Yazid who taught the Qur'an in the mosque: How do you recite the verse (fahal min muddakir) whether (the word muddakir) Is with (d) or (dh)? He (Aswad) said: It was with (d). I heard Abdullah b. Mas'ud saying that he had heard the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) reciting (muddakir) with (d).
