حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِذَاتِ الرِّقَاعِ قَالَ كُنَّا إِذَا أَتَيْنَا عَلَى شَجَرَةٍ ظَلِيلَةٍ تَرَكْنَاهَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَسَيْفُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُعَلَّقٌ بِشَجَرَةٍ فَأَخَذَ سَيْفَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاخْتَرَطَهُ فَقَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَخَافُنِي قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَمَنْ يَمْنَعُكَ مِنِّي قَالَ اللَّهُ يَمْنَعُنِي مِنْكَ قَالَ فَتَهَدَّدَهُ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَغْمَدَ السَّيْفَ وَعَلَّقَهُ قَالَ فَنُودِيَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى بِطَائِفَةٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ تَأَخَّرُوا وَصَلَّى بِالطَّائِفَةِ الْأُخْرَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَالَ فَكَانَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعُ رَكَعَاتٍ وَلِلْقَوْمِ رَكْعَتَانِ

Urdu Translation

  ۔ ابان بن یزید نے کہا : ہم سے یحییٰ ابن کثیر نے ابو سلمہ ( بن عبدالرحمان ) سے حدیث بیان کی اور انھوں نے حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ( جہاد پر ) آئے ۔ حتیٰ کہ جب ہم ذات الرقاع ( نامی پہاڑ ) تک پہنچے ۔ کہا : ہماری عادت تھی کہ جب ہم کسی گھنے سائے والے درخت تک پہنچے تو اسے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے لئے چھوڑ دیتے ، کہا : ایک مشرک آیا جبکہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی تلوار درخت پر لٹکی ہوئی تھی ، اس نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی تلوارپکڑ لی ، اسے میان سے نکالا اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہنے لگا : کیا آپ مجھ سے ڈ رتے ہیں؟آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " نہیں ۔ " اس نے کہا : تو پھر آپ کومجھ سے کون بچائے گا؟آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نےفرمایا : " اللہ تعالیٰ مجھے تم سےمحفوظ فرمائے گا ۔ " رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھیوں نے اسے دھمکایا تو اس نے تلوار میان میں ڈال لی اور اسے لٹکایا ۔ اس کے بعد نماز کے لئے اذان کہی گئی ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک گروہ کو دو رکعت نماز پڑھائی ، پھر وہ گروہ پیچھے چلا گیااس کے بعد آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دوسرے گروہ کو دو رکعتیں پڑھائیں ۔ کہا اس طرح رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی چار رکعتیں ہوئیں اور لوگوں کی دو دو رکعتیں ۔

English Translation

Jabir reported: We went forward with the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and when we reached Dhat ar-Riqa', we came to a shady tree which -we left for him One of the polytheists came there and, seeing the sword of the Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) hanging by a free. took it up. drew it from the scabbard and said to the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ): Are you afraid of Me? He (the Holy Prophet) said: No. He again said: Who would protect you from me? He said: Allah will protect me from you. The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) threatened him. He sheathed the sword and hung it up. Then call to prayer was made and he (the Holy Prophet) led a group in two rak'ah. Then (the members of this group) withdrew and he led the second group in two rak'ah. So the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) observed four rak'ah and people observed two rak'ah.
