و حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ح و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ جَاءَ سُلَيْكٌ الْغَطَفَانِيُّ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَاعِدٌ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَعَدَ سُلَيْكٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرَكَعْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَالَ لَا قَالَ قُمْ فَارْكَعْهُمَا

Urdu Translation

  ابو زبیر نے حضرت جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ سلیک غطفانی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ جمعے کے دن آئے جبکہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم منبر پر بیٹھے ہوئے تھے تو سلیک نماز پڑھنے سے پہلے ہی بیٹھ گئے ۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے کہا : " کیا تم نے دو رکعتیں پڑھ لی ہیں؟ " انھوں نے کہا : نہیں ۔ آپ نے فرمایا : " اٹھو اور دو ر کعتیں پڑھو ۔ "

English Translation

Jabir reported that Sulaik Ghatafani came on Friday (for prayer) while the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) was sitting on the pulpit. Sulaik also sat down before observing prayer.
