حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ وَيُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَأَنْ يَحْتَزِمَ أَحَدُكُمْ حُزْمَةً مِنْ حَطَبٍ فَيَحْمِلَهَا عَلَى ظَهْرِهِ فَيَبِيعَهَا خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ رَجُلًا يُعْطِيهِ أَوْ يَمْنَعُهُ

Urdu Translation

  حضرت عبدالرحمان بن عوف رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے آزادکردہ غلام ابو عبید سے روایت کی کہ انھوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سنا ، کہہ رہے تھے : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " تم میں سے کوئی ایندھن کا گٹھا باندھے اور اپنی پیٹھ پرلادے ، اور بیچ دے ، اس کے لئے اس سے بہتر ہے کہ کسی آدمی سے سوال کرے ، ( چاہے ) وہ اسے دے یا نہ دے ۔ "

English Translation

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: It is better for any one of you to tie a bundle of firewood and carry it on his back and sell it than to beg a person, he may give or may refuse.
