Abida said: I will not narrate to you except what I heard from him (Hadrat 'Ali), and then he narrated from him.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ قَالَ لَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ إِلَّا مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْهُ فَذَكَرَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ أَيُّوبَ مَرْفُوعًا

ابن عون نے محمد سے اور انھوں نے عبیدہ سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا میں تمھیں صرف وہی بیان کروں گا جو میں نے ان ( علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) سے سنا ہے پھر انھوں نے حضرت علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے ایو ب کی حدیث کی طرح مرفو ع حدیث بیان کی ۔
