Baab Emaan Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مِنَ الْكَبَائِرِ شَتْمُ الرَّجُلِ وَالِدَيْهِ» قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَهَلْ يَشْتِمُ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ يَسُبُّ أَبَا الرَّجُلِ فَيَسُبُّ أَبَاهُ، وَيَسُبُّ أُمَّهُ فَيَسُبُّ أُمَّهُ»

Urdu Translation

  ( یزید بن عبد اللہ ) ابن ہاد نے سعد بن ابراہیم سے ، انہوں نے حمید بن عبد الرحمان سے اور انہوں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’ آدمی کا اپنےوالدین کو گالی دینا کبیرہ گناہوں میں سے ہے ۔ ‘ ‘ ( صحابہ ) کہنے لگے : اے اللہ کے رسول ! کیا کوئی آدمی اپنے والدین کو گالی دیتا ہے ؟ فرمایا : ’’ہاں! انسان کسی کے باپ کوگالی دیتا ہے تو وہ ا س کے باپ کو گالی دیتا ہے ۔ جب یہ کسی کی ماں کو گالی دیتا ہے تو وہ اس کی ماں کو گالی دیتاہے ۔ ‘ ‘

English Translation

It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah b. Amr b. al-'As that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) observed: Abusing one's parents is one of the major sins. They (the hearers) said: Messenger of Allah, does a man abuse his parents too? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Yes, one abuses the father of another man, who in turn abuses his father. One abuses his mother and he in turn abuses his (the former's) mother.
