وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ الصَّوْمَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ إِنَّ لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَيْنِ: إِذَا أَفْطَرَ فَرِحَ، وَإِذَا لَقِيَ اللهَ فَرِحَ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ، لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ»

Urdu Translation

  محمد بن فضیل نے ابو سنان سے ، انھوں نے ابو صالح سے اور انھوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ اور حضرت ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، ان دونوں نے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : اللہ عزوجل فر ماتا ہے ۔ بلا شبہ روزہ میرے لیے ہے اور میں ہی اس کی جزا دوں گا ۔ بلا شبہ روزہ دار کے لیے دوخوشیاں ہیں : جب وہ ( روزہ ) افطار کرتا ہے خوش ہو تا ہے ۔ اور جب وہ اللہ سے ملا قات کرے گا ۔ خوش ہو گا ، اور اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی جان ہے !اللہ کے ہاں ، روزہ دار کے منہ کی بو کستوری کی خوشبو سے بھی زیادہ پسندیدہ ہے ۔

English Translation

Abu Huraira and Abu Sa'id (Allah be pleased with both of them) reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) (as saying): Allah, the Exalted and Majestic, said: Fast (is exclusively) meant for Me and I would give its reward. There are two (occasions) of joy for the observer of fast. He feels joy when he breaks the fast and he is happy when he meets Allah. By Allah in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
