حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ ابْنُ أَيُّوبَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ الْخَزْرَجِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَهُ سِتًّا مِنْ شَوَّالٍ، كَانَ كَصِيَامِ الدَّهْرِ»

Urdu Translation

  ہمیں اسما عیل بن جعفر نے حدیث سنا ئی ، ( کہا : ) مجھے سعد بن سعید قیس نے عمر بن ثا بت بن حارث خزعجی سے خبر دی ، انھوں نے حضرت ابو ایوب انصاری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی انھوں نے ان کو حدیث سنا ، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " جس نے رمضا ن کے روزے رکھے ۔ پھر اس کے بعد شوال کے چھروزے رکھے تو یہ ( پوراسال ) مسلسل روزے رکھنے کی طرح ہے ۔

English Translation

Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: He who observed the fast of Ramadan and then followed it with six (fasts) of Shawwal. it would be as if he fasted perpetually.
