حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنِي سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ الْأَصْفَرِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّ عَلِيًّا، قَدِمَ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «بِمَ أَهْلَلْتَ؟» فَقَالَ: أَهْلَلْتُ بِإِهْلَالِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «لَوْلَا أَنَّ مَعِي الْهَدْيَ لَأَحْلَلْتُ»

Urdu Translation

  ( عبد الرحمٰن ) بن مہدی نے ہمیں حدیث سنا ئی ( کہا ) مجھے سلیم بن حیا ن نے مروان اصغر سے حدیث سنا ئی ، انھوں نے حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ حضرت علی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ( حجۃ الوداع کے موقع پر ) یمن سے مکہ پہنچے تو نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے پوچھا : " تم نے کیا تلبیہ پکا را ؟انھوں نے جواب دیا : میں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے تلبیے کے مطا بق تلبیہ پکا را ۔ آپ نے فرمایا : " اگر میرے پاس قربانی نہ ہو تی تو میں ضرور احلال ( احرا م سے فراغت ) اختیا ر کر لیتا ۔ "

English Translation

Anas (Allah be pleased with him) reported that 'Ali (Allah be pleased with him) came from the Yemen, and the Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: With (what intention) have you put on Ihram? He said: I have put on Ibram in accordance with the intention with which Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) has put on Ibram, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Had there not been the sacrificial animals with me, I would have put off Ihram (after performing 'Umra).
