حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ. ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَشْيَاءَ كُنْتُ أَفْعَلُهَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ - قَالَ هِشَامٌ: يَعْنِي أَتَبَرَّرُ بِهَا - فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَسْلَمْتَ عَلَى مَا أَسْلَفْتَ لَكَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ»، قُلْتُ: فَوَاللهِ، لَا أَدَعُ شَيْئًا صَنَعْتُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ إِلَّا فَعَلْتُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ مِثْلَهُ،

Urdu Translation

  ابن شہاب زہری کے ایک اور شاگرد معمر نے اسی ( سابقہ ( سند کے ساتھ یہی روایت بیان کی ، نیز ( ایک دوسری سند کے ساتھ ) ابو معاویہ نے ہمیں خبر : ہمیں ہشام بن عروہ نے اپنے والد سے حدیث سنائی ، انہوں نے حضرت حکیم بن حزام ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سےروایت کی ، انہون نے کہا کہ میں رسول اللہ ﷺ سے پوچھا : وہ ( بھلائی کی ) چیزیں ( کام ) جو میں جاہلیت کے دور میں کیا کرتا تھا؟ ( ہشام نے کہا : ان کی مراد تھی کہ میں نیکی کےلیے کرتا تھا ) تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’تم اس بھلائی سمیت اسلام میں داخل ہوئے جو تم نے پہلے کی ۔ ‘ ‘ میں نےکہا : اللہ کی قسم ! میں نے جو ( نیک ) کام جاہلیت میں کیے تھے ، ان میں سے کوئی عمل نہیں چھوڑوں گا مگر اس جیسے کام اسلام میں بھی کروں گا ۔

English Translation

It is narrate on the authority of Hakim b. Hizam: I said: Messenger of Allah, I did so some of the deeds in the state of ignorance. (One of the transmitters Hisham b. Urwa explained them as acts of piety. Upon this the Messenger, of Allah remarked: You have embraced Islam with all the previous acts of virtue. I said: By God, I would leave nothing undone in Islam the like of which I did in the state of ignorance.
