وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، وَتَقَارَبَا فِي اللَّفْظِ، قَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ: حَدَّثَنَا، وَقَالَ عَبْدٌ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «حِينَ أُسْرِيَ بِي لَقِيتُ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - فَنَعَتَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ - حَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ - مُضْطَرِبٌ، رَجِلُ الرَّأْسِ كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ»، قَالَ: «وَلَقِيتُ عِيسَى - فَنَعَتَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَإِذَا رَبْعَةٌ أَحْمَرُ، كَأَنَّمَا خَرَجَ مِنْ دِيمَاسٍ» - يَعْنِي حَمَّامًا - قَالَ: «وَرَأَيْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَنَا أَشْبَهُ وَلَدِهِ بِهِ»، قَالَ: فَأُتِيتُ بِإِنَاءَيْنِ فِي أَحَدِهِمَا لَبَنٌ، وَفِي الْآخَرِ خَمْرٌ، فَقِيلَ لِي: خُذْ أَيَّهُمَا شِئْتَ، فَأَخَذْتُ اللَّبَنَ، فَشَرِبْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: هُدِيتَ الْفِطْرَةَ - أَوْ أَصَبْتَ الْفِطْرَةَ - أَمَّا إِنَّكَ لَوْ أَخَذْتَ الْخَمْرَ غَوَتْ أُمَّتُكَ

Urdu Translation

  حضرت ابو ہریرہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے روایت ہے ، کا : نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’جب مجھے اسراء کروایا گیا تو میں موسیٰ علیہ السلام سے ملا ( آپ نےان کا حلیہ بیان کیا : میرا خیال ہے آپ نے فرمایا : ) وہ ایک مضطرب ( کچھ لمبے اور پھر پتلے ) مرد ہیں ، لٹکتے بالوں والے ، جیسے وہ قبیلہ شنوءہ کے مردوں میں سے ہوں ( اور آپ نے فرمایا : ) میری ملاقات عیسیٰ ‌علیہ ‌السلام ‌ سے ہوئی ( آپﷺ نے ان کا حلیہ بیان فرمایا : ) وہ میانہ قامت ، سرخ رنگ کے تھے گویا ابھی دیماس ( یعنی حمام ) سے نکلے ہیں ۔ اور فرمایا : میں ابراہیم علیہ السلام سے ملا ، ان کی اولاد میں سے میں ان کے ساتھ سب سے زیادہ مشابہ ہوں ( آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا ) میرے پاس دو برتن لائے گئے ، ایک میں دودھ اور دوسرے میں شراب تھی ، مجھ سے کہا گیا : ان میں سے جو چاہیں لے لیں ۔ میں نے دودھ لیا اور اسے پی لیا ، ( جبریل ‌علیہ ‌السلام ‌ نے ) کہا کہ آپ کو فطرت کی راہ پر چلایا گیا ہے ( یا آپ نے فطرت کو پا لیا ہے ) اگر آپ شراب پی لیتے تو آپ کی امت راستے سے ہٹ جاتی ۔ ‘ ‘

English Translation

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: When I was taken for the night journey I met Moses peace be upon him). The Apostle of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) gave his description thus: He was a man, I suppose-and he (the narrator) was somewhat doubtful (that the Prophet observed): (Moses) was a man erect in stature with straight hair on his head as it he was one of the men of the Shanu'a; and I met Jesus and the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) described him as one having a medium stature and a red complexion as if he had (just) come out of the bath He observed: I saw Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and amongst his children I have the greatest resemblance with him. He said: There were brought to me two vessels. In one of them was milk and in the other one there was wine. And it was said to me: Select any one you like. So I selected the vessel containing milk and drank it. He (the angel) said: You have been guided on al-fitra or you have attained al-fitra. Had you selected wine, your Ummah would have been misled.
