وحَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ سَرَقَتْ، فَأُتِيَ بِهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَعَاذَتْ بِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَاللهِ لَوْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةُ لَقَطَعْتُ يَدَهَا»، فَقُطِعَتْ

Urdu Translation

  حضرت جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ بنو مخزوم کی ایک عورت نے چوری کی ، اسے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے لایا گیا تو اس نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زوجہ محترمہ حضرت ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کی پناہ لی تو نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " اگر فاطمہ ( بنت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بھی ) ہوتی تو میں اس کا ہاتھ کاٹ دیتا ۔ " چنانچہ اس عورت کا ہاتھ کاٹ دیا گیا

English Translation

Jaibir reported that a woman from the tribe of Makhzum committed theft. She was brought to Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and she sought refuge (intercession) from Umm Salama, the wife of Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ). Thereupon Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: By Allah, even if she were Fatima, I would have her hand cut off. And thus her hand was cut off.
