Baab Jihad Aur Us Ke Doraan Rasool Saw Ke Ikhtiar Kerda Tareeqe

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ: حَدَّثَنَا، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ الْحَدَثَانِ، قَالَ: أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّهُ قَدْ حَضَرَ أَهْلُ أَبْيَاتٍ مِنْ قَوْمِكَ بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِيهِ، فَكَانَ يُنْفِقُ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ مِنْهُ سَنَةً، وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: يَحْبِسُ قُوتَ أَهْلِهِ مِنْهُ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ يَجْعَلُ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْهُ مَجْعَلَ مَالِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

Urdu Translation

  معمر نے ہمیں زہری سے خبر دی ، انہوں نے مالک بن اوس بن حدثان سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے کہا : حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نے میری طرف پیغام بھیجا اور کہا : تمہاری قوم میں سے کچھ گھرانوں کے لوگ آئے تھے ۔ ۔ مالک کی حدیث کی طرح ، البتہ انہوں نے اس میں کہا : آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس سے سال بھر اپنے اہل و عیال پر خرچ کرتے ۔ اور ( حدیث بیان کرتے ہوئے ) بسا اوقات معمر نے کہا : آپ اس سے اپنے گھر والوں کی سال بھر کی کم از کم خوراک الگ کر لیتے ، پھر جو بچتا اسے اللہ کے مال ( بیت المال ) کے مصارف پر لگاتے

English Translation

The same hadith has been narrated by a different chain of transmitters with a slight variation in wording: 'Umar b. al-Khattab sent for me and said: Some families from your tribe have come to me (then follows the foregoing hadith) by Malik with the difference that the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) would spend on his family for a year. And sometimes Ma'mar said: He would retain sustenance for his family for a year, and what was left of that he spent in the cause of Allah, the Majestic and Exalted.
