و حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَإِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَاللَّفْظُ لِقُتَيْبَةَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ بَعَثَنِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَا وَمُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ شَرَابًا يُصْنَعُ بِأَرْضِنَا يُقَالُ لَهُ الْمِزْرُ مِنْ الشَّعِيرِ وَشَرَابٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْبِتْعُ مِنْ الْعَسَلِ فَقَالَ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ

Urdu Translation

  شعبہ نے سعید بن ابی بردہ سے انھوں نے اپنے والد سے انھوں نے حضرت ابو موسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے اور حضرت معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو یمن کی طرف بھیجا میں نے عرض کی یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم !ہمارے علاقے میں جو سے ایک مشروب بنا یا جا تا ہے اس کو مزرکہتے ہیں اور ایک مشروب شہد سے بنا یا جا تا ہے اس کو بتع کہتے ہیں ۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرما یا : " ہر نشہ آور چیز حرام ہے ۔ "

English Translation

Abu Musa reported: Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) sent me and Mu'adh b. Jabal to Yemen. I said: Allah's Messenger, there is prepared in our land a wine out of barley which is known as Mizr (beer of our times) and a wine from honey which is known as Bit, (are these also forbidden? ), whereupon he said: Every intoxicant is forbidden.
