حَدَّثَنِي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُلَيَّةَ عَنْ الْمُثَنَّى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنِي طَلْحَةُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ فَأَخْرَجَ إِلَيْهِ فِلَقًا مِنْ خُبْزٍ فَقَالَ مَا مِنْ أُدُمٍ فَقَالُوا لَا إِلَّا شَيْءٌ مِنْ خَلٍّ قَالَ فَإِنَّ الْخَلَّ نِعْمَ الْأُدُمُ قَالَ جَابِرٌ فَمَا زِلْتُ أُحِبُّ الْخَلَّ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ و قَالَ طَلْحَةُ مَا زِلْتُ أُحِبُّ الْخَلَّ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ جَابِرٍ

Urdu Translation

  اسماعیل بن علیہ نے مثنیٰ بن سعید سے حدیث بیان کی کہا : مجھے طلحہ بن نافع نے حدیث بیان کی کہ انھوں نے حضرت جا بربن عبد اللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سنا ، کہہ رہے تھے ۔ ایک دن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم میرا ہاتھ پکڑ کر اپنے گھر لے گئے تو خادم آپ کے لیے روٹی کے کچھ ٹکڑے نکال کر لا یا آپ نے پو چھا : " کو ئی سالن نہیں ہے؟ " اس نے کہا : تھوڑا سا سرکہ ہے ۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرما یا : " بلا شبہ سرکہ عمدہ سالن ہے ۔ " حضرت جا بر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا : جب سے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے یہ سنا ہے میں سرکہ پسند کرتا ہوں اور طلحہ ( راوی ) نے کہا : جب سے میں نے جابر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے یہ حدیث سنی ہے میں بھی سرکے کو پسند کرتا ہوں ۔

English Translation

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported: Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) took hold of my hand one day (and led me) to his residence. There was presented to him some pieces of bread, whereupon he said: Is there no condiment? They (the members of his household) said: No, except some vinegar. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Vinegar is a good condiment. Jabir said: I have always loved vinegar since I heard it trom Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ). Talha said: I have always loved vinegar since I heard about it from Jabir.
