و حَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ أُمَّ قَيْسٍ بِنْتَ مِحْصَنٍ وَكَانَتْ مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ الْأُوَلِ اللَّاتِي بَايَعْنَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ أُخْتُ عُكَّاشَةَ بْنِ مِحْصَنٍ أَحَدِ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّهَا أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِابْنٍ لَهَا لَمْ يَبْلُغْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الطَّعَامَ وَقَدْ أَعْلَقَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ الْعُذْرَةِ قَالَ يُونُسُ أَعْلَقَتْ غَمَزَتْ فَهِيَ تَخَافُ أَنْ يَكُونَ بِهِ عُذْرَةٌ قَالَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَامَهْ تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْإِعْلَاقِ عَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ يَعْنِي بِهِ الْكُسْتَ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةَ أَشْفِيَةٍ مِنْهَا ذَاتُ الْجَنْبِ

Urdu Translation

  یونس بن یزید نے کہا کہ ابن شہاب نے انھیں بتا یا کہا : مجھے عبید اللہ بن عبد اللہ بن عتبہ بن مسعود نے خبر دی کہ حضرت ام قیس بنت محصن رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا ۔ پہلے پہل ہجرت کرنے والی ان خواتین میں سے تھیں جنھوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ بیعت کی تھی ۔ یہ بنوا سد بن خزیمہ کے فرد حضرت عکا شہ بن محصن رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کی بہن تھیں ۔ کہا : انھوں نے مجھے خبر دی کہ وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں اپنے ایک بیٹے کو لے کر آئیں جو ابھی کھانا کھانے کی عمر کو نہیں پہنچا تھا ، انھوں نے گلے کی سوزش کی بنا پر اس کے حلق کو انگلی سے دبایا تھا ۔ یونس نے کہا حلق دبایا تھا ۔ یعنی انگلی چبھو ئی تھی ( تا کہ فاصد خون نکل جا ئے ) انھیں یہ خوف تھا کہ اس گلے کے میں سوزش ہے ۔ انھوں ( ام قیس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا ) نے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " اس انگلی چبھونے والے طریقے سے تم اپنے بچوں کا گلا کیوں دباتی ہو؟ اس عودہندی یعنی کُست کا استعمال کرو کیونکہ اس میں سات اقسام کی کی شفا ہے ان میں سے ایک نمونیا ۔ "

English Translation

Umm Qais, daughter of Mihsan, was one of the earlier female emigrants who had pledged allegiance to Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ). She was the sister of Ukasha b. Mihsan, one of the posterity of Asad b. Khuzaima. She reported that she came to Allah's messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) along with her son who had not attained the age of weaning and she had compressed the swelling of his uvula. (Yunus said: She compressed the uvula because she was afraid that there might be swelling of uvula.) Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: Why do you afflict your children by compressing in this way? You should use Indian aloeswood, for it has seven remedies in it, one of them being the remedy for pleurisy.
