Anas reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no divination, but good omen pleases me, i. e. the good word or a good word.

حَدَّثَنَا هَدَّابُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: لَا عَدْوَى، وَلَا طِيَرَةَ، وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ: الْكَلِمَةُ الْحَسَنَةُ، الْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ

  ہمام بن یحییٰ نے کہا : ہمیں قتادہ نے حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے حدیث بیان کی کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " کسی سے کو ئی مرض خود بخود نہیں لگتا برے شگون کی کو ئی حقیقت نہیں اور ( اس کے بالمقابل ) نیک فال یعنی حوصلہ افزائی کا اچھا کلمہ پاکیزہ بات مجھے اچھی لگتی ہے ۔ "
