حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ نَمْلَةً قَرَصَتْ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ، فَأَمَرَ بِقَرْيَةِ النَّمْلِ فَأُحْرِقَتْ، فَأَوْحَى اللهُ إِلَيْهِ: أَفِي أَنْ قَرَصَتْكَ نَمْلَةٌ أَهْلَكْتَ أُمَّةً مِنَ الْأُمَمِ تُسَبِّحُ؟

Urdu Translation

  سعید بن مسیب اور ابو سلمہ بن عبد الرحمٰن نے حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے اور انھوں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فر ما یا : " ( پہلے ) انبیاء علیہ السلام میں سے ایک نبی کو کسی چیونٹی نے کا ٹ لیا ، انھوں نے چیونٹیوں کی پوری بستی کے بارے میں حکم دیا تو وہ جلا دی گئی ۔ اس پر اللہ تعا لیٰ نے ان کے طرف وحی کی کہ ایک چیونٹی کے کاٹنے کی وجہ سے آپ نے امتوں میں سے ایک ایسی امت ( بڑی آبادی ) کو ہلا ک کر دیا ۔ جو اللہ کی تسبیح کرتی تھی؟ "

English Translation

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: An ant had bitten a Prophet (one amongst the earlier Prophets) and he ordered that the colony of the ants should be burnt. And Allah revealed to him: Because of an ant's bite you have burnt a community from amongst the communities which sings My glory.
