Baab Sahaba Karaam R.A Ke Fazail O Munaqib

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ - وَاللَّفْظُ لِإِسْحَاقَ - قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: فِينَا نَزَلَتْ: {إِذْ هَمَّتْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ تَفْشَلَا وَاللهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا} [آل عمران: 122] بَنُو سَلِمَةَ وَبَنُو حَارِثَةَ، وَمَا نُحِبُّ أَنَّهَا لَمْ تَنْزِلْ، لِقَوْلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {وَاللهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا} [آل عمران: 122]

Urdu Translation

  عمرو ( بن دینار ) نے حضرت جا بر بن عبد اللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : یہ آیت ہمارے بارے میں نازل ہو ئی " جب تم میں سے دوجماعتوں نے پیچھے ہٹنے کا ارادہ کیا اور اللہ ان دونوں کا مدد گا ر تھا " یہ آیت بنوسلمہ اور بنو حارثہ کے متعلق نازل ہو ئی ( اس کے اندر ) اللہ کے اس فر ما ن : " اللہ ان دونوں ( جماعتوں ) کا مددگار تھا " کی بنا پر ہمیں یہ بات پسند نہیں کہ یہ آیت نال نہ ہو ئی ہوتی ۔

English Translation

Jabir b. Abdullah reported that it was concerning them (the Ansar) that this verse was revealed, that when the two groups amongst you were about to lose heart and Allah was the Guardian of them both. This concerned Banu Salama and Banu Haritha and we did not like that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, should not have revealed this verse for the fact that Allah (gave an assurance) of being the Guardian of both.
