حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، فَقَالَ لِي: «إِنَّ أَوَّلَ صَدَقَةٍ بَيَّضَتْ وَجْهَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَوُجُوهَ أَصْحَابِهِ، صَدَقَةُ طَيِّئٍ، جِئْتَ بِهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»

Urdu Translation

  عدی بن حاتم سے روایت ہے ، کہا : میں حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے پاس آیا تو انھوں نے مجھ سے کہا : سب سے پہلا صدقہ ( باقاعدہ وصول شدہ زکاۃ ) جس نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور آپ کے صحا بہ کرام رضوان اللہ عنھم اجمعین کے چہروں کو روشن کر دیا تھا بنو طے کا صدقہ تھا ، جس کو آپ ( عدی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں لے کر آئے تھے ۔

English Translation

Adi b. Hatim reported: I came to Umar b. Khattab and he said to me: The first consignment of Sadaqa brought to Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) which brightened the face of Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and the faces of his Companions was that of Tayyi.
