حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ - قَالَ عَبْدٌ: أَخْبَرَنَا، وقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ: حَدَّثَنَا - عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، خَطَبَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ، بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي قَدْ كَبِرْتُ، وَلِي عِيَالٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «خَيْرُ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ» ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى وَلَدٍ فِي صِغَرِهِ»

Urdu Translation

  معمر نے زہری سے ، انھوں نے ابن مسیب سے ، انھوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حضرت ام ہانی بنت ابی طالب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو نکاح کا پیغام بھجوایا ، انھوں نے کہا : اللہ کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم !اب میں بوڑھی ہوگئی ہوں اور میرےبہت سے بچے ہیں ، اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " ( اونٹوں پر ) سوار ہونے والی عورتوں میں سے بہترین " پھر یونس کی حدیث کی طرح بیان کیا مگر یوں کیا : " اس کی کم سنی میں بچے پر سب سے زیادہ مہربان ہوتی ہیں ۔ "

English Translation

Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) gave a proposal of marriage to Umm Hani, the daughter of Abu Talib, whereupon she said: Allah's Messenger, I am of an advanced age with a (large) family. Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: The best women are those who ride (the camels) ; the rest of the hadith is the same but with this difference that, instead of the word Ar'a the word Ahna has been used (and the complete sentence is like this): That they treat children in their childhood with affection.
