Baab Sahaba Karaam R.A Ke Fazail O Munaqib

وحَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ السَّمَّانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ» فَلَا أَدْرِي فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوْ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ قَالَ: «ثُمَّ يَتَخَلَّفُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ، تَسْبِقُ شَهَادَةُ أَحَدِهِمْ يَمِينَهُ، وَيَمِينُهُ شَهَادَتَهُ»

Urdu Translation

  ابن عون نے ابراہیم سے ، انھوں نے عبیدہ سے ، انھوں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے ، انھوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا؛ " لوگوں میں سے بہترین میرے دور کے لوگ ( صحابہ رضوان اللہ عنھم اجمعین ) ہیں ، پھر وہ جو ان کے ساتھ ( کے دورکے ) ہوں گے ( تابعین رحمۃ اللہ علیہ ) ، پھر وہ جوان کے ساتھ ( کے دور کے ) ہوں گے ( تبع تابعین ۔ ) " ( عبیدہ سلیمانی نے کہا : ) مجھے یاد نہیں ( کہ حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ) تیسری بار کہا یاچوتھی بار : " پھر ان کے جانشین ایسے لوگ ہوں گے کہ ان میں سے کسی ایک کی گواہی قسم سے پہلے ہوگی اوراور اس کی قسم اس کی گواہی سے پہلے ہوگی ۔ "

English Translation

Abdullah (b. Mas'ud) reported Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: The best among people are of my generation, then those next to them. (The narrator said): I do not know whether (he said) it three times or four times. Then there would fellow after them such persons whose evidence would precede the oath, and in case of some others, the oath (would precede) the evidence.
