حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، وَشُعْبَةَ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَسْتَأْذِنُهُ فِي الْجِهَادِ فَقَالَ: «أَحَيٌّ وَالِدَاكَ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ»

Urdu Translation

  وکیع نے سفیان سے اور یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے سفیان اور شعبہ دونوں سے روایت کی ، دونوں نے کہا : ہمیں حبیب نے ابوعباس سے حدیث سنائی ، انہوں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا ایک شخص نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس جہاد کی اجازت طلب کرنے کے لیے آیا تو آپ نے فرمایا : " کیا تمہارے والدین زندہ ہیں؟ " اس نے کہا : جی ہاں ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کہا : جی ہاں ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " پھر ان ( کی خدمت بجا لانے ) میں جہاد کرو ۔ ( اپنی جان اور مال کو ان کی خدمت میں صرف کرو ۔ ) "

English Translation

Abdullah b. 'Amr reported that a person came to Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and sought permission (to participate) in Jihad, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Are your parents living? He said: Yes. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: You should put in your best efforts (in their) service.
