A'isha reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: A believer does not receive (the trouble) of running a thorn or more than that but Allah elevates him in rank or effaces his sins because of that.

و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُمَا و حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ قَالَ إِسْحَقُ أَخْبَرَنَا و قَالَ الْآخَرَانِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا يُصِيبُ الْمُؤْمِنَ مِنْ شَوْكَةٍ فَمَا فَوْقَهَا إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً أَوْ حَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً

  اعمش نے ابراہیم سے ، انہوں نے اسود سے ، انہوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " ایک مومن کو کوئی کانٹا نہیں چبھتا یا اس سے زیادہ کوئی تکلیف نہیں ہوتی مگر اللہ تعالیٰ اس سے اس کا ایک درجہ بلند کر دیتا ہے یا اس کی بنا پر اس کا ایک گناہ مٹا دیتا ہے ۔ "
