This hadith has been reported on the authority of Ibn Munkadir with the same chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording.

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَ مَعْنَاهُ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ بِئْسَ أَخُو الْقَوْمِ وَابْنُ الْعَشِيرَةِ

معمر نے ابن منکدر سے اسی سند کے ساتھ اسی کے ہم معنی روایت بیان کی ، مگر انہوں نے کہا : " یہ قوم کا بدترین فرد ہے اور یہ گھرانے کا ( بدترین ) فرد ہے ۔ "
