حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، فَجَاءَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ يَدْعُوهُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الْمُؤَذِّنُونَ أَطْوَلُ النَّاسِ أَعْنَاقًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

Urdu Translation

  عبدہ نے طلحہ بن یحییٰ ( بن طلحہ بن عبید اللہ ) سے اور انہوں نے اپنے چچا ( عیسیٰ بن طلحہ بن عبید اللہ ) سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے کہا : میں معاویہ بن ابی سفیان ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ کے پاس تھا ، ان کے پاس مؤذن انہیں نماز کے لیے بلانے آیا ۔ تو معاویہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ نے کہا : میں نے رسول اللہﷺ سے سنا ، آپ فرماتے تھے : قیامت کے دن مؤذن ، لوگوں میں سب سے زیادہ لمبی گردنوں والے ہوں گے ۔ ‘ ‘

English Translation

Yahya narrated it on the authority of his uncle that he had been sitting in the company of Mu'awiya b. Abu Sufyan when the Mu'adhdhin called (Muslims) to prayer. Mu'awiya said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) saying The Mu'adhdhins will have the longest necks on the Day of Resurrection.
