Sunan Abu Dawood 1003 - Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قُرَّةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْالزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ حَذْفُ السَّلَامِ سُنَّةٌ . قَالَ عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ نَهَانِي ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ رَفْعِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ. قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْت أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ عِيسَى بْنَ يُونُسَ الْفَاخُورِيَّ الرَّمْلِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا رَجَعَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ مِنْ مَكَّةَ تَرَكَ رَفْعَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ عَنْ رَفْعِهِ.

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: سلام کو کھینچ کر لمبا نہ کرنا سنت ہے ۔ عیسیٰ کہتے ہیں کہ عبداللہ بن مبارک نے مجھے اس حدیث کو مرفوع کرنے سے منع کیا ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: میں نے ابوعمیر عیسیٰ بن یونس فاخری رملی سے سنا ہے انہوں نے کہا ہے کہ جب فریابی مکہ مکرمہ سے واپس آئے تو انہوں نے اس حدیث کو مرفوع کہنا ترک کر دیا اور کہا: احمد بن حنبل نے انہیں اس حدیث کو مرفوع روایت کرنے سے منع کر دیا ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Shortening the salutation is sunnah (commendable). The narrator 'Isa said: Ibn al-Mubarak prohibited me from reporting this tradition as a statement of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Abu Dawud said: I heard Abu Umar 'Isa bin Yunus al-Fakhuri al-Ramil saying: When al-Firyabi returned from Makkah, he gave up narrating this tradition as a statement of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He said: Ahmad bin Hanbal forbade to report this tradition directly from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.
